Tomorrow I'm taking some of my wonderful students along to the fabulous Brighton Science Festival to run an activity at their Family day. I've been involved in the festival since the very beginning as I taught the daughter of its founder Richard Robinson. This was now 11 years ago and in that time the festival has become a well established part of the life of our city. Tomorrow thousands of children will visit a local school with their families and spend the day enjoying hands on science activities. Over the years I've given talks and workshops. This year we are taking our popular Molymod building activity. With the kind donation of 10 model kits from Philip Spiring the owner of Molymod (which is incidentally a Sussex based company) we have developed a model building table based activity. The children visiting the festival are able to build simple molecules such as water as well as getting prizes for managing the challenge of building paracetamol. We had a parents evening last night and I'm exhausted this morning but know I will have a great day tomorrow!
