An unusual summer

It’s been a very different summer to normal! Mostly because I’ve been hard at work completing a literature review for the Chartered Teacher Programme alongside visiting beautiful Cornwall and Leamington Spa. With such wonderful weather I've been enjoying playing a lot of music outdoor as well.

Today I visited the Chartered College to be interviewed for their marketing materials and found out that I passed phase two of the programme! It was fab to meet the really enthusiastic Joe Treacy and not hard at all to be positive about the Chartered Teacher pilot so far! It was really interesting to see the Royal Charter and to read what it said in detail on my way home.

It has also been a time for some reflection. At the start of last academic year I was struggling under a big workload while still really enjoying my job. Rather typically for me I decided the answer to the problem was to seek a new challenge which of course has increased my workload! But, working through the programme has been so interesting. I've met some wonderful teachers, built networks country wide and completed some inspiring reading. I'm sat at home on a wet bank holiday Sunday putting together my questionnaire to use as part of the action research project and am already looking forward to the answers I will get from it.

In the coming academic year I've set myself the target of blogging much more frequently. Watch this space
